- ResolvedResolved
We would like to provide an important update to announce the release of Edge version 120. This update addresses the issue many of you faced when accessing your SharePoint sites and the ShortPoint demos web site, resolving the "Aw, Snap!" error.
To ascertain your Edge version, kindly navigate to: edge://settings/help. Should you find that your version has not yet updated, rest assured that Edge deploys updates in batches, and your system will receive it sooner.
We also want to thank you for your patience and cooperation in helping us tackle this issue. We are now going to resolve this case, but if you encounter any further issues or need assistance, please don't hesitate to reach out.
- MonitoringMonitoring
We recently faced an issue with Chromium browsers (Chrome and Edge) where an error message appeared when accessing our ShortPoint demos page or SharePoint pages, attributed to an update in Chromium browsers affecting Web Accessibility.
We're delighted to share that Chrome browsers have released version .120, addressing this page crashing issue. To verify your browser version, please visit: chrome://settings/help using your Chrome browsers.
Please be aware that Chrome distributes updates in batches, so you may not have received this version yet. Rest assured, it should be available to you soon.
We will provide another update once the same version is released for the Edge browser.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation as we work through this matter. Your patience is greatly appreciated.
- IdentifiedIdentified
We wanted to post an update about this issue with the STATUS_STACK_OVERFLOW or RESULT_CODE_HUNG error message you are seeing when accessing your SharePoint sites or our ShortPoint Demos website using an Edge or a Chrome browser.
After doing further investigation, it appears that the issue is with the recent updates that Chromium browsers had recently released. We are able to replicate this issue on our end, and we found that it is replicable when you have the Web Accessibility turned on in the browser itself.
We already have a ticket logged to Chromium support, and we provided them information how to replicate the issue as well. Please see below the tickets we have logged for your reference:
https://bugs.chromium.org/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=1487583&can=2&q=STATUS_STACK_OVERFLOW https://bugs.chromium.org/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=1493980&q=Result_CODE_HUNG&can=2#makechanges
As a workaround, you can disable Web Accessibility feature temporarily. To find this setting, you can access this URL in your browser:
Chrome: chrome://accessiblity
Edge: edge://accessibility.
Then, uncheck the Web Accessibility option.
This should resolve the issue for you. Per our testing, we also found that this issue has been fixed in Chrome Canary.
Please know that we are closely monitoring this issue, and we will be sending another update once the issue has been fixed.
Appreciate your patience on this matter.
- InvestigatingInvestigating
We are receiving reports from our users that they are currently experiencing an issue when accessing their SharePoint sites using Chrome and Edge browsers. They are presented with the 'Aw, Snap!' message, together with the error STATUS_STACK_OVERFLOW.
We did further investigation about this, and found that it is an issue with the Chromium update that was released recently (Chromium is the engine behind Edge and Chrome browsers). Please know that we already created a ticket to the Chromium support team, and we are closely monitoring the progress of it.
According to the Chromium support, the issue has been already fixed however, we are still waiting for them to release a stable version of it. In the meantime, you can try the workarounds below, which we found helpful when we were encountering the issues our selves:
- Log in/Log out of your Windows Account.
- Restart your machine.
- Use Mozilla browser.
- Downgrade your Chrome/Edge version.
Rest assured that we are going to provide updates as soon as we have new information about this issue.
Thank you for patience and continued support.
